In Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar, there are a two men who've done well for themselves in the business world. One owns a brewery; the other work in the mining industry. Sometimes, they like are going to hunt for wolves in the Altai mountains. They aren't ordinary citizens of Mongolia. They are really rich people. And not only to the situation in Mongolia. These two friends use their unique off-road for excursions into the mountains, where they hunt for wolves with an eagle.
But the ordinary cars was not sufficient for them. So they ordered a special cars in Germany. It was Mercedes-Benz Zetros 6x6 in unique modification and with special equipment for long stay in mountains.
Some of the equipment may not be totally indispensable. In the equipment of the vehicle is not missing even the 46-inch flat-screen TV monitors, outdoor grilles, Bose sound systems, self-adjusting motorized satellite dishes, Wi-Fi, refrigerator/freezer, bar and coffee machine even place for an ATV.
A 7.2-liter inline-six diesel engine with 326 hp and 960 pound-feet of torque does the pushing/pulling duties, driving all six wheels for a chassis load capacity of 16 metric tons. There's a choice of two transmissions. The standard unit nine-speed transmission with eight forward gears plus crawler and a direct-ratio top gear, or an optional six-speed Allison 3000 SP/PR fully-automatic transmission. The Zetros is equipped with three mechanical differential locks that can be selected by the driver using a rotary control.
Drivers cab is equipped a padded sleeping bed for the driver, an air condition, a 24 V audio system, a Bluetooth hands-free system and a 7-inch touchscreen to which a reversing camera is connected. Mercedes are also equipped with GPS module. It is necessary for orientation in Mongolian countryside, because maps of Mongolia are usually inaccurate. Both trucks are also fitted with two fuel tanks holding 300 and 200 litres.
Other equipment include the water systems that supply drinking water and water for the shower/toilet, with a total volume of 250 litres (100 litres waste water tank), and a water-cooled diesel generator.
